The Evening Star - As darkness is undone by light, so darkness is undone by she. A breeze will lift a raven's flight; she took my hand and lifted me. A shaft of sun from o'ercast skies, a shade when from the sun I rest, she's a shield when arrows fly; an evening star serves as her crest. She's the part of life I fight for, and the part of lift fought with; hers the life I live and die for, mine the life to gladly give. When I battle, she's the passion, she's the soul with which I fight; when from warring I turn home, she's the rest I take at night. When I see the end of war, when I see the end of strife, I'll place her as an evening star to set upon my weary life. Evening stars shine brightest, and stay into the dawn. Thus the burn the longest, until the night is gone.
